Automation TechnicianWe are looking for an Automation Technician to join our Circular Products (CP) team in our Sauk Rapids location. The Automation Technician will execute and maintain automated robotic systems and is responsible for setting up, operating, loading and unloading various machines / equipment to manufacture metal products in accordance with product specifications.Job Title: Automation TechnicianLocation: Sauk Rapids, MNSalary Range: $27.00 - $32.00/hour (non-exempt) (In compliance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, this range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.)Shift Schedule: 2nd shift Monday – Thursday 3pm – 1amShift Differential: 2nd shift - $1.50/hourAs an Automation Technician, you will:Provides technical support of the automated cell to ensure minimal downtime and optimal productivityIdentifies problems and issues in robotic systems, communicating with internal engineers, specialists, or other staff to diagnose and understand issuesTroubleshoots and repairs or corrects problems, which may include repairs and revisions to hardware (disassembly and reassembly of robots and peripheral equipment) and software (investigation of programming code for mistakes)Installs, programs, reprograms, and repairs and maintains robots and equipment such as controllers, end-of-arm tooling, and conveyorsUses tools, templates, and fixtures to align, fit, or assemble componentsUses tools such as electronic voltmeters to test the performance of robotic assemblies; documents procedures and test resultsEvaluates the efficiency and reliability of industrial robotic systems; reprograms, calibrates, or makes recommendations for enhancements to achieve maximum quantity and qualityPerforms preventive and curative maintenance on robotic systems and componentsMaintains service records for automated production systems and robotic equipmentAssists engineers with design, configuration, and robotic systems applicationsSets up and safely operates equipment and reports any potential safety issues on work cells; ensures safety at all timesRole Qualifications as an Automation Technician:Experience in a manufacturing environmentVocational or Associate degree in related field required Bachelor's degree preferredAt least one year of related experience or apprenticeship requiredExcellent verbal and written communication skills in EnglishBasic understanding of mechanical repair, computer programming, and electric circuit designBasic understanding of programming code used to control devicesBasic understanding of programmable logic controllers and electronics schematicsStrong mechanical, electrical, analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to read and interpret blueprintsAbility to perform basic shop math functionsAbility to use forklift, hoist, crane and other handling equipmentAbility to operate various power and hand toolsAbility to use various measuring devicesAbility to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and / or methodsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete logs and reportsPhysical Demands (Production Roles):This position requires the individual to wear and work in company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE). This position requires that the individual can lift a minimum of 50lbs.

And, if applicable, can maneuver large, cumbersome equipment with the use of an overhead crane and/or forklift. Must be able to work in, on, or around equipment and machinery.
