Automation TechnicianThe Entry-Level Automation Technician supports the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of automated equipment in an injection molding manufacturing environment. Working under the guidance of senior automation engineers and maintenance personnel, this position assists with troubleshooting automated systems, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting equipment installations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production.Essential ResponsibilitiesAssist in troubleshooting automated production equipment, including injection molding machines, robots, conveyors, and auxiliary equipment.Perform preventive maintenance on automation systems and production equipment.Support setup, testing, and startup of automated machinery and robotic systems.Assist with basic PLC and HMI troubleshooting under the direction of senior technicians or engineers.Monitor equipment performance and report issues affecting production, quality, or safety.Help install sensors, actuators, motors, and other automation components.Work with maintenance and production teams to minimize equipment downtime.Document repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment changes.Follow all company safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and machine guarding requirements.Participate in continuous improvement projects to increase equipment reliability and production efficiency.Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).QualificationsAssociate degree or technical certificate in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Electrical Technology, Robotics, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on technical experience.Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.Preferred QualificationsInternship, co-op, or vocational training in a manufacturing environment.Exposure to injection molding or automated manufacturing equipment.Familiarity with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs.Experience with industrial robots such as FANUC, ABB, or Yaskawa is a plus.CompensationStarting pay is approximately $20.00 per hour.Final starting wage will be based on the candidate's education, relevant experience, technical skills, certifications, and overall qualifications.Opportunities for wage increases are available based on performance, skill development, and demonstrated proficiency.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday.Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.Ability to work safely around industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment.Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).Career PathThis entry-level position provides hands-on experience with industrial automation and offers opportunities to advance into senior level positions as well as further education/certification opportunities.Employee BenefitsIndustrial Clinic AccessBeginning the first day of the month following hire, employees have access to our Industrial Clinic at Britt Family Medicine for both convenient care and primary care services.Benefits include:Free medical appointmentsFree in-house medicationsFree supplies for managing chronic health conditions, including diabetes and high blood pressureComprehensive BenefitsAfter 60 days of employment, employees are eligible to enroll in a variety of optional benefits, including:Medical insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceAdditional voluntary benefit optionsPaid Time Off & Holiday PayAfter 6 months of employment, employees become eligible for:40 hours paid vacationHoliday payRetirement SavingsAfter 1 year of employment, employees are eligible to participate in the company's 401(k) retirement savings plan.Pathways to Economic Participation (PEP)After 2 years of employment and approval into the program, eligible employees may participate in the Pathways to Economic Participation (PEP) program.The PEP program is designed to help employees build strong financial management skills while working toward homeownership, vehicle ownership, and long-term financial stability.Program benefits include:Matching funds for employee savingsFinancial management education provided during the workdayNo-fee checking and savings accountsHome mortgage loan productsAuto loan purchase productsParticipants become eligible for these financial products after successfully completing the financial management education program and demonstrating effective personal financial management practices.Important NoticeTo be hired at Royer Corporation, applicants must have access to an active email account in order to complete required new-hire paperwork.Royer Corporation is committed to providing a safe, productive, and professional workplace and encourages qualified candidates to apply.
