Optomi, in partnership with one of our premier clients, is seeking a hands-on Automation Engineer to join a high-visibility internal team focused on enabling secure, automated operations across Windows and Linux environments. This is a net-new role created to support increased workload and velocity across multiple technical workstreams. You’ll work closely with internal engineers to help unblock execution, build lightweight automation, and contribute directly to configuration and deployment tooling.
This role requires someone who is technically flexible, self-driven, and comfortable wearing many hats in a fast-moving and politically sensitive enterprise environment.

Experience of the Right Candidate:
- Strong self-starter mentality with a proven track record of learning new technologies quickly.
- Experience scripting and automating tasks in both PowerShell (Windows) and Bash (Linux) environments.
- Practical knowledge of Ansible for configuration management and infrastructure automation.
- Familiarity with YAML and basic DevOps workflow concepts.
- Ability to navigate politically sensitive environments where communication, discretion, and adaptability are key.
- Experience automating in regulated, enterprise, or consulting environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise security, compliance tooling, or audit-sensitive processes.
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.) is a plus.
Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:
- Build, enhance, and troubleshoot automation workflows using PowerShell, Bash, and Ansible.
- Write and maintain YAML configurations to support infrastructure deployment and system configuration.
- Operate across both Windows and Linux platforms, supporting tool development and lightweight DevOps automation.
- Assist with internal tooling and documentation that supports compliance and governance needs.
- Take ownership of assigned technical tasks, drive independent research, and deliver solutions with minimal guidance.
- Work across multiple concurrent tracks, helping the team move faster without sacrificing security or process rigor.
- Engage with team leads and technical stakeholders to support evolving infrastructure initiatives.
