Senior Automation / Development EngineerThe Senior Automation / Development Engineer combines aspects of a traditional developer and tester into a single position responsible for the design and release of quality code in short, releasable, and iterative increments. It is critical for this position to have not only the technical skills relative to development and testing, but strong collaboration and communication skills in order to support their agile scrum team.
Responsibilities include:Ensure integration and maintenance of test automation scripts into the CI/CD pipeline;Ensure consistency in process and documentation of test automation approach within and across teams;Support usage and analysis of new automation tools;Develops, implements, and maintains automated test scripts;Use of cutting edge test automation tools for Web, Mobile, and Desktop applications (i.e. Selenium, Appium);Perform manual testing as required;Provide test execution reporting through tools such as ALM, JIRA;Sets the direction for and oversees the work of other testers (in future state)Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent work experienceAt least eight years of work experience in Application Development/IT Systems Testing, and team leadershipPreferred Skills/Experience:Functional Testing experience, including ability to create, maintain and execute both manual and automated testsDevOps capabilities - containers, cloud, automation, security, configuration management, CI/CDExtensive knowledge in modeling and application design and architectureExpert programming knowledge skillsExpert knowledge in IT/Software quality assuranceStrong understanding of Information ManagementExperience in: Unit Testing (including automation and integration with CI systems) and Agile Software Development (typically Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)Open, honest, collaborative and clear intra-team communication skillsEntirely self-directed, can solve business problems from inception to implementation- can solve business problems without explicit directionCreative, flexible, and willing to continuously change, evolve, and improve software development processesStrong understanding of system and network architectureAbility to identify, resolve, and retest defectsLeads by example; providing support and mentoring as needed to ensure sufficient skill, knowledge and effectiveness in the development and testing processDemonstrated technical leadership and directionDemonstrated enterprise-level collaboration and system architecture designDemonstrated mentorship of more junior resources in technical and business topicsKnowledge in CI/CD solutions, such as Jenkins and MavenAbility to analyze features to deliver solutions that meet business needsAbility to follow policy requirements related to documentation and other processesStrong attention to detailStrong time management skills and communication/leadership skillsStrongly Preferred Skills/Experience:Selenium, Appium, Protractor, Cucumber, etc.ReadyAPI and RestAssuredBehavior Driven Development ExperiencejQuery, JavaScriptGitlab/GitHub, JIRA, JenkinsCI/CDKnowledge on A11Y / WCAG testing, tools and automationRequired Skills:Looking for a Senior Automation Engineer
