Auto Service Tech - Level 2

The Auto Service Technician 2 is responsible for inspecting and testing vehicles, completing preventive maintenance such as tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, alignments, oil changes, replacing filters, and fluid exchanges.

Key responsibilities include completing vehicle inspections, communicating repair needs to the front counter, performing vehicle alignments, performing vehicle flushes, repairing and replacing brakes, performing oil changes and air filters, changing, repairing, and replacing tires, recommending products and services, quoting repairs, supporting company safety and operational standards, completing all necessary training and maintaining certifications, and assisting with phones and front counter duties.

Competencies and skills include customer service, mechanical skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team.

Qualifications – Required

• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
• Minimum age requirement: 18 years
• 1-2 years of experience
• ASE A5 – Brakes or ASE G1.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Physical demands include standing 80% of the time, walking 70% of the time, frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces, frequent lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs, frequent use of hands and fingers for grasping and dexterity, and constant visual, auditory, and verbal communication required.

Work environment includes frequent exposure to noise, dirt, dust, mechanical vibration, fumes, and outdoor conditions, occasional work in extreme heat/cold or wet/humid environments, and occasional hazards due to mechanical equipment and moving objects.

Equipment operated includes computer and keyboard, tire machines, compressors, air tools and hand tools, company-provided software and system for work orders and inventory, and required to use protective gear (PPE).
