Auditorium Technical Assistant

Auditorium Technical AssistantThe Auditorium Technical Assistant will report directly to the Auditorium Manager. This position will work on a wide variety of events in the Auditorium, supervise LOHS Theatre students working on productions, and assist with maintenance and upkeep of the Auditorium, including the theater scene shop.Qualifications:Skills/experience (required):1+ years of technical theatre experienceAbility to pass a background check to work with students18+ years oldStrong communication skillsAbility to lift 50 lbs.Ability to work at heightsSkills/experience (preferred):Experience in education, ideally with high school studentsLive audio mixing/stage audio setup (Midas M32 and QLab experience a plus)Basic knowledge of theatrical lighting (ETC Ion experience a plus)Carpentry experience (scenic carpentry or similar)Interest in further mastering skills in Theater Technology/DesignDuties:During events:Supervise renters in AuditoriumRun light board or sound boardMove scenery backstage (including operation of fly system)Manage backstage areasAssist with event setup and takedown, including orchestra shellLOHS Theatre Productions:Work with LOHS students during rehearsals on lighting, sound, set construction, painting, props, costumes, makeupSupervise students during showsOther tasks:Assist with auditorium maintenance and upkeep, equipment repairs, and various projectsOther duties as assigned by district administration and Auditorium ManagerSchedule/Hours:Generally, weekday afternoons during LOHS productions. Will include some evenings/weekends for events, with a flexible schedule at other times.
