Audit Manager – Public Accounting

Our client, a well-established local CPA firm in Bergen County, NJ is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a public accounting professional who enjoys staying hands-on with engagements while leading small audit teams and developing strong client relationships. This role sits with a stable and secure firm and offers clear track for career growth!

Responsibilities:

• Manage audit engagements from planning through completion
• Lead small audit teams onsite at client locations
• Oversee audits for a client base with a strong focus on the construction industry
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong relationships
• Review audit workpapers and financial statements
• Manage engagement timelines, deliverables, and client expectations
• Supervise, mentor, and develop audit staff

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of public accounting experience
• Strong audit experience with progressive responsibility
• Prior construction industry audit experience highly preferred
• Experience supervising and managing small audit teams
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and auditing standards
• Excellent client-facing and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA preferred
