We are a collaborative, globally connected team of over 200 professionals.The Audit Manager is responsible for conducting and documenting audits across Asset and Wealth Management.

This role leads audit project teams, which includes providing oversight to the audit team and communicating results of the engagement to management. The Audit Manager provides technical expertise and training to auditors within the engagement audit team and works closely with Senior Audit Managers to confirm the scope of the audit and to devise an appropriate testing approach to be performed during the engagement.Major DutiesOperate independentlyDesign and lead audit execution - one or two audits simultaneouslyVerify test steps aligned with controlsWork on more complex auditsContribute on other engagements outside lead roleMentor/Coach junior staffPlanning:Propose audit scopeLead (AIC) more complex audit projectsDevelop testing approach, RCTM, and RCMComplete planning documentsComplete all sections of PQHold budget meetingsDelegate testsLead walkthroughs, planning meetingsFieldwork:Responsible for ensuring audit engagement is meeting deadlinesComplete highest complexity testing;Lead discussions with stakeholders on testing findingsPerform L1 reviews on low to moderate complexity testsChallenge issues, propose root causeReporting:Draft issuesDraft report (including executive summary)Data Analytics:Identify more complex DA opportunities and assist in implementationIssue Validation:Performs testingDraft failure memoKnowledge/SkillsDemonstrates professional skepticism and comfort with questioning how certain processes are being performed in order to facilitate making improvements.Knowledge of audit/accounting principles usually obtained through related work experience and a four year degree program in related subject areaStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skills - including effective business writing and presentation skills.Have a professional certification (e.g. CPA, CISA, CIA, ACA, ACCA)ExperienceA College or University degree and 5+ years related work experience (auditing experience in a financial institution is preferred).We have a balanced hybrid working model to ensure you get the flexibility you need, and the successful candidate will spend their time between working in the office and working from home.Salary Range: $83,100 - 141,300 USDNorthern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits.
