Accounting Policy OfficerThe Accounting Policy Officer will provide technical accounting support to senior management and business units by interpreting existing and new accounting guidance related to new products, significant/non-routine transactions, and other financial events.The role includes preparing accounting memos, maintaining accounting policies, monitoring emerging accounting developments, and evaluating their impact on the bank’s financial and regulatory reporting.This position requires strong expertise in:U.S. GAAPIFRSSEC Rules & RegulationsBank Regulatory ReportingCPA candidates with Big 4 accounting experience are highly preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesResearch, analyze, and provide technical accounting guidance for:New productsRegulatory/accounting updatesSignificant or non-routine transactionsPrepare accounting policy memorandums and technical position papersCollaborate with internal stakeholders and external auditorsMonitor emerging US GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory developmentsAssess impact on financial and regulatory reportingSupport implementation of new accounting standardsReview financial disclosures and reporting for complianceMaintain and update accounting policiesAssist with ad-hoc accounting and reporting projectsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting (Mandatory)CPA certification preferred6+ years of technical accounting experience with:Big 4 Accounting Firm ORCombination of Big 4 and industry experienceStrong knowledge of:US GAAPIFRSSEC reporting regulationsBanking industry experience is a plusRequired SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to defend accounting positions with senior leadershipStrong project management and organizational skillsAbility to work under tight deadlinesDetail-oriented and multi-tasking capabilityStrong stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills
