Job Summary

Provides audiological diagnostic and rehabilitative care to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Administer standard audiometric battery of tests including air conduction, bone conduction, speech reception threshold, and speech discrimination tests.
  • Conduct electrophysiologic testing.
  • Provide rehabilitative care including counseling, hearing aid evaluation, orientation, and training.
  • Consult and test for the infant screening program.
  • Offer services in aural rehabilitation (e.g., cochlear implants, osseointegrated hearing aids).
  • Perform tinnitus and central auditory processing evaluation and counseling.
  • Record procedures and results in patient records; record charges; communicate with others regarding patients.
  • Oversee clinical work of Audiology Technicians and may supervise graduate students.
  • Consult with other departments and make referrals as appropriate.
  • Report malfunctioning equipment to the Manager and perform minor equipment repairs.
  • Provide in‑service training by planning, organizing, and participating in community education activities.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Audiology (required).
  • Experience: Certified and licensed as an Audiologist.
  • Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence within 6 months – American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Skills: Communication, rehabilitation practices/programs.
