Overview

Job description for a training position in audiology. The position provides clinical experience in the evaluation and interpretation of behavioral and electrophysiological testing for the auditory and vestibular system. Successful completion leads to qualification for licensure to operate as an independent audiologist. Provides opportunities and benefits of academic research with Otolaryngology residents and faculty. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Fourth‑year audiology intern
  • Strong diagnostic skills
  • Experience with ENG and digital hearing dispensing
  • Preferred: cochlear implant experience
  • Full‑time internship, 40 hours per week, day shift

Physical Requirements

Medium: 20–50 lbs at any time, generally 0–33 % of the workday; 11–25 lbs 34–66 % of the workday; 1–10 lbs 67–100 % of the workday. Lifting up to 50 lbs, carrying objects up to 25 lbs. Occasional to frequent standing, walking, sitting, close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing); physical demands may vary by work area.

Environmental Factors

Exposure to blood‑borne pathogens, biohazardous waste, chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care/handling injuries, radiation; shift work, travel. Personal protective equipment required; respirators may be needed.
