nWhat you can expect at your practice:
nConduct hearing evaluations and diagnostic tests to assess auditory and balance disorders for all ages.
nInterpret test results and provide accurate diagnoses of hearing impairments or balance issues.
nCounsel patients and their families on hearing loss, treatment options, and effective communication strategies.
nEducate patients on the prevention of hearing loss, including noise exposure risks and ear protection.
nPerform otoscopic examination.
nCollaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and referral services.
nMaintain accurate and thorough patient records and documenting diagnosis.
nPerform vestibular assessments and manage balance disorder treatments (if applicable).
nPerform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and managing patient referrals.
nStay updated with the latest advancements in audiology through continuous education and training.
nImplement and/or coordinate community, school-based, or occupational hearing screening and conservation programs (if applicable).
nSupervise audiology assistants who provide support functions to the practice of audiology in addition to audiology students (if applicable)
nAudiologist Requirements:
nDoctoral degree in Audiology (Au.D) from an accredited program
nState licensure or eligibility for licensure as an audiologist
nCertification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or equivalent (preferred).
nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively counsel patients.
nCompassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
