This Co-Op student will help develop portable devices with Public Safety Mission-Critical Audio. These devices involve extreme noise suppression, high dynamic range mics, mic array technologies, advanced DSP audio algorithms, and proprietary design micro loudspeakers – all carefully integrated to create a lifeline for firefighters, soldiers & law enforcement officers; it must work, always!

Mission-critical audio begins where consumer audio leaves off.Job DescriptionMotorola Solutions' Florida team is searching for an Engineering Co-Op student to join an advanced technology and product design team that is focused on wireless speech communications under a wide range of conditions, for demanding customers.The position is a hybrid co-op role starting August 2025. Candidate must be local to Broward County.Responsibilities may include:Development of audio data analysis and visualization methodsAutomation of Audio Lab testing and Data AcquisitionConcept prototyping: Take a new audio algorithm or design from concept to initial working model, to assess technical performance and strength of perceptionDevelop machine learning techniques for audio processing and data analysisDesired Skills and Abilities:Matlab and/or Python programmingDSP programmingAudio Laboratory experienceMachine Learning approaches to audio processingAdobe Audition, and/or Audacity audio file editing toolsWorks well with other engineersMust be positive, open-minded, embraces challenges and can contribute to innovative approachesGraduate student preferred, but Bachelors student will be considered if they can demonstrate relevant project or work experience in the field of Audio Engineering.Basic RequirementsPursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.Must graduate on or after May 2026.Must be a US Citizen, permanent resident or be an MS student with work authorization (F1 Visa on CPT accepted only for masters-level students).Travel RequirementsNoneRelocation ProvidedNonePosition TypeInternEEO StatementMotorola Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
