Audio Engineer - Adjunct InstructorReporting to the Director of Education or Program Chair, facilitate student learning toward the achievement of course and program learning outcomes. Teach, inspire, motivate, guide, support, and help students in courses and program. Continually improve instructional and professional skills. Update materials in support of SAE courses. Set high expectations for quality of work and raise the bar each time the course runs.

Ensure that each student completes coursework that achieves the goal of the class and is done with quality and attention to detail. Comply fully with all policies, practices, and procedures of SAE Institute as outlined in the faculty handbook, catalog, procedures manuals, and faculty assignment agreement. This is a Part-Time Adjunct Instructor position with an opportunity for a contract renewal as needed. Need is strictly based on campus operations, scheduling and student enrollments.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Provide education that aligns with the SAE model of curricula and deliveryEstablish a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvementContribute to a learning culture by participating in academic advising, serving on curriculum committees, supporting campus events such as new student orientation and graduation, and participating in various other workshops and collegiate meetingsManage the learning environment by keeping accurate records and enforcing college policies and proceduresPost attendance within one hour of the end of class, assignment grades within one week of submission, and final grades within 48 hours of the end of the courseDevelop instructional plans to meet course competencies and develop course activities that support lesson objectivesEffectively plan and prepare for classes and student successContact and advise students who are at risk for attendance and/or academics to help provide support, and coordinate with Academics staff to effectively manage at-risk studentsMaintain, update, manage, and ensure accuracy of content on Learning Management System (Canvas) for all assigned coursesUse the Learning Management System (Canvas) to effectively engage and communicate with students to supplement and support course and program learning outcomesMaintain instructor eligibility according to applicable federal, state, and accrediting regulationsAbide by all SAE policies and proceduresOther duties as assignedKey Relationships:Director of Education and Campus DirectorDepartment of Academic and Student Services TeamCampus staffStudentsKey Result Areas:4-8 objectives with associated activities and KPIs (which can then align with the performance plan) that the incumbent is accountable for.Objective:Effectively plan and prepare for classes and student successFollow standard course syllabi for successful student outcomes.Maintain instructor eligibilityUtilize available teaching technologiesMajor Activities:Provide syllabi enrichment by developing course materials, and utilizing participatory and innovative teaching-learning methodologies utilizing SAE approved curriculum.Utilize successful teaching learning methodologies to enhance learning and engage learners.Create and follow annual faculty development planImplement teaching technologies, including Canvas, to improve student engagementKey Performance Indicators:Classroom Observations meet or exceed expectationsComplete one professional growth development activity and one in service development activity annuallyStudent engagement, as measure by Canvas usageUpdate Canvas grade book within 48 hours after assessment postedQualifications:Education:Diploma or Associate Degree courses: Faculty teaching courses other than general education shall hold a bachelor's degree at a minimum and shall be assigned based on their major and minor academic preparation and three years of related experience. At least 50% of the courses, including core courses, shall be taught by faculty members holding graduate degrees, professional degrees such as J.D.

or M.D. or a bachelor's degree plus professional certification. Appropriate certifications for Audio Technology faculty are ProTools or Logic.Competencies:Expert knowledge of subject matter taught in specific coursesExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to foster a cooperative atmosphere in a diverse communityOutstanding conflict resolution skillsDemonstrated time management and critical thinking skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple tasksAbility to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurring deadlinesAbility to work independently/without constant supervision and to follow instructionsKnowledge of common office software (e.g: Microsoft Office Suite) with the ability to complete administrative functions such as posting attendance and grades in a timely and accurate mannerAdditional Information:This is a Part-Time Adjunct Instructor position with a term rate of $7,290 - $12,510 per mod or $45 hourly.Sitting and standing for long periods. Dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper. Occasional lifting of items weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds such as files, stacks of paper, equipment, and other materials.

Moving from place to place within the organization. Minimal reaching for items above or below desk level. Strength, dexterity, coordination and vision to use keyboard and video display terminal for prolonged periods.
