Position Overview
Develop and oversee the execution of a meaningful ATV Trek program developing leadership, character, knowledge, and fitness for ATV participants of varying ability levels in an ATV trek.
Key Responsibilities
- Train and supervise staff in execution of ATV programs; including ASI training courses
- Assist with directing the set up and takedown of the ATV facilities and equipment
- Guarantee the safe and thorough completion of every ATV training for all riders
- Coordinate logistics such as gear, food, and ATVs through multiple camping locations.
- Ensure that all equipment is used properly, inventoried, and returned in good repair
- Ensure that all paperwork is filled out accurately and timely
- Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
- Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
- Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
- Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook
Qualifications
- Minimum age: 21+
- Required: Experience in operating ATV or off-road motor vehicles
- Required: Pass the ASI instructor course (training provided)
- Required: 2+ yr. leading teams, Prefer 2+ Summit employment
- Preferred: Experience in simple mechanics and repair
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
Physical & Practical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and riding up to 9 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 60 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
- Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55
