Duties
- Gather and review medical evidence and records.
- Conduct depositions of claimants, physicians, and other parties.
- Perform discovery and legal research.
- Draft legal documents including pleadings and motions.
- Litigate cases before an administrative law judge.
- Represent employer or insurer in various legal proceedings.
- Assist in accident investigations and problem-solving.
- Manage costs to reduce liability.
- Compile and submit management reports.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
Requirements
- J.D. and admission to the Indiana bar; additional Midwest state bar admission is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in workers' compensation or related fields.
- Knowledge of legal principles and practices.
- Understanding of local, state, and federal laws.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook; Perfect Law software preferred.
- Maintain firm and client confidentiality.
