A respected, full-service, 20 attorney law firm in western Nassau County, Long Island with a truly outstanding culture, is hiring an Attorney, Transactional / Corporate / Commercial at the Associate to Counsel level, with the clear intent for a partnership track. Firm partners are committed to an effective work/life balance - no weekends, few late nights, and a goal of 1600 hours/year, including pro bono hours!

To be considered for this role, candidates MUST HAVE a portable book of business with a recurring client revenue stream. Sole practitioners are welcome!

The new hire is expected to work on site for the most part, with occasional remote flex as needed.

Brooklyn Commute : LIRR for ~40 minutes from Atlantic Branch (Nostrand Ave, Atlantic Terminal) to LIRR New Hyde Park station, plus a short walk or taxi/Uber

Manhattan Commute: LIRRfor ~45 minutes from Penn Station or GCS to LIRR New Hyde Park station, plus a short walk or taxi/Uber

The salary range is ~$140k to $250k, depending on experience and value of portable book of business. Approximately 4+ years of broad, relevant experience required in the transactional / corporate / commercial discipline.

Position Responsibilities

• Transactional / Commercial Business / Corporate work, including advising ownership and management of privately-held companies at the startup through exit stages of growth.
• Counsel clients and run key areas of Transactional / Commercial Business / Corporate matters, such as buying, closing, forming, structuring and selling businesses, mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance, compliance matters, etc.
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts.
• Compose / Create Operating / Shareholder / Employment Agreements.
• If experienced in this area, also handle client negotiations through closings related to commercial real estate acquisitions, sales, leasing, and financing activities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of transactional / business / corporate experience.
• Licensed to practice law in NY.
• J.D. (or a U.S.-based LLM in Law if your Bachelor's degree was earned outside the U.S.)
• Relevant work experience related to commercial real estate is a plus but NOT required .
• Analytical skills with exceptional business acumen and the ability to speak with and counsel clients regarding various business matters.
• Must be an accountable self-starter with a high EQ, motivated to continue learning and taking on new responsibilities, able to own and operate client relationships/cases beginning to end.
• Strong skills re communicating, writing, negotiating, multi-tasking and project managing.
