We are seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join a collaborative and growing legal team. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for an attorney who enjoys managing workers' compensation defense matters, developing strategic case defenses, and delivering exceptional client service while working independently in a flexible environment.
Responsibilities

  • Manage workers' compensation defense cases from initial claim through resolution.
  • Represent employers and insurance carriers at hearings, depositions, and other litigation proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Analyze case facts and develop effective defense strategies tailored to each matter.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates and strategic legal guidance.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure efficient case management and timely resolution.
  • Stay current with California workers' compensation laws, regulations, and legal developments.
  • Independently manage multiple active cases while maintaining high-quality legal representation.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active California Bar license in good standing.
  • 3+ years of workers' compensation defense experience or related legal experience.
  • Candidates with employment insurance claims experience involving workers' compensation matters will also be considered.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple cases and prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to professional growth and client advocacy.
