Collections Attorney – South Florida (Remote Flexibility within 1-2 hours of Miami)

A rapidly expanding private fintech company is seeking a Florida‑licensed Collections Attorney to take ownership of legal collections for its small‑business financing portfolio. This is a hands‑on, in‑house role for an attorney who can manage matters independently while collaborating closely with a supportive legal and collections team.

About the Company

The company provides working‑capital solutions to small businesses, including those that may not qualify for traditional bank financing. The legal team is led by an experienced general counsel and supported by established collections and legal operations professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft demand letters and other pre‑litigation communications
• Evaluate delinquent business accounts and identify potential recovery sources
• Negotiate settlements with debtors and opposing counsel
• Manage collections litigation and attend hearings as needed
• Coordinate with outside counsel for additional support or local representation
• Oversee service of process and work with process servers
• Update demand letters, settlement templates, and other legal documents
• Partner closely with the general counsel and U.S./international collections teams

Qualifications

• Active member of The Florida Bar
• Minimum 2 years of collections law experience
• Commercial collections experience preferred; relevant consumer experience considered
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and litigation skills
• Ability to manage matters independently from demand through resolution
• Collaborative communication style and strong interpersonal skills
• Organized, responsive, and comfortable working cross‑functionally and internationally

Location & Flexibility

The company’s office is in South Florida. Remote work is available, but candidates should live within 1–2 hours of Miami to attend hearings, meetings, or occasional office days. Attorneys in West Palm Beach and surrounding South Florida communities are encouraged to apply.
