Responsibilities
- Conduct discovery and draft legal documents.
- Litigate cases before an administrative law judge.
- Represent employers or insurers at various legal proceedings.
- Monitor loss run reports and alert management to concerns.
- Assist in accident investigations and manage costs.
- Compile and submit management reports.
- Coordinate and attend claims reviews.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
Requirements
- J.D. and admission to the Illinois bar; additional Midwest state bar admission is a plus.
- Experience in workers' compensation or general liability defense.
- Working knowledge of legal principles and practices.
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal laws.
- Thorough knowledge of legal research techniques and terminology.
Education
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
Certifications
- Admission to the Illinois bar.
