Attorney Position
Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled attorney to join our African American, community based legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in personal injury law and worker's compensation law. This role requires exceptional legal research abilities, proficiency with legal databases such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw, and a commitment to providing high-quality legal representation to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in legal proceedings, including, but not limited to arbitrations, mediations, motions, trials and appeals.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
- Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations in various matters.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and staff within the law office to ensure comprehensive case management.
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting practice areas, particularly in personal injury law and worker's compensation law.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients while advocating for their best interests.
Experience:
- Juris doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar association is required.
- Previous experience in litigation and jury trials, preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw is recommended.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
