The attorney will join a growing insurance coverage and civil appellate practice and will work closely with firm leadership on a broad range of complex coverage matters. The attorney will join a growing insurance coverage and civil appellate practice and will work closely with firm leadership on a broad range of complex coverage matters. Responsibilities
- Research, analyze, and write on complex legal issues involving insurance coverage and related matters.
- Assess cases, identify legal issues, and develop effective case strategies.
- Draft legal opinions, pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Handle and support declaratory judgment actions and insurance coverage disputes.
- Represent insurance carriers in bad faith litigation and other coverage-related matters.
- Manage client reporting, billing, deadlines, and other case-management responsibilities.
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff while also managing assignments independently.
- Maintain a minimum monthly billable-hour requirement of 180 hours.
- Licensed and in good standing with the Texas Bar.
- At least 3 years of legal experience preferred.
- Insurance coverage experience is preferred; extensive legal research and writing experience will also be considered.
- Strong understanding of Texas state and federal procedural rules.
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong case assessment and issue-spotting abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows-based systems.
