Job Overview

A law firm seeks a full‑time Attorney in Houston, Texas, offering a hybrid work arrangement. This role focuses on creditor‑side litigation, collections, and related disputes, particularly within the oil and gas sector, while also handling a variety of commercial and fiduciary matters.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on creditor rights, collections, and litigation matters.
  • Handle disputes involving mineral liens and oil and gas service companies.
  • Manage litigation and dispute resolution matters, including business and probate‑related issues.
  • Negotiate pre‑suit claims and settlements.
  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members.
  • Manage deadlines, prioritize workload, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff on case strategy and firm initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of legal experience.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in bankruptcy, creditor rights, or collections‑related matters.
  • Ability to manage complex matters independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Adaptability and willingness to contribute across various legal matters.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Texas.
