Commercial Attorney (Contract) – Hybrid | Chicago, IL
Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Attorney for a hybrid contract opportunity in Chicago. This role is ideal for a pragmatic, business-minded attorney who enjoys working independently and advising on a broad range of legal matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including customer agreements, vendor contracts, supply agreements, and NDAs
- Provide legal guidance on employment-related matters and HR risk mitigation
- Handle commercial disputes and litigation matters
- Support compliance initiatives and general corporate legal needs
Practice Mix:
- 70% Commercial Contracts
- 20% Litigation/Dispute Resolution
- 10% Compliance
Qualifications:
- 4–6+ years of legal experience
- Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills
- Prior in-house counsel experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and provide practical, solution-oriented advice
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience handling a broad range of legal matters as a generalist
Position Details:
- Hybrid in Chicago, IL
- 40 hours per week
- Business hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Business casual environment
The pay range for this position is $70-75/hour depending on experience. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
