Commercial Real Estate Attorney | Charlotte, NC | $130,000 to $260,000
Every commercial real estate deal produces two things: a closing, and a client deciding who they’ll call next time. This firm wants that call coming to you.
- I’m Clark Pollins, a recruiter at Distinct Recruitment, hiring for a Charlotte law firm that needs an experienced commercial real estate attorney.
- This role is built for someone who wants their own clients. The billable hours matter, but the book is the point.
Why it’s worth a move
- Charlotte keeps building. New developers, investors and lenders arrive every year, and plenty of them haven’t settled on their lawyers yet.
- The billable target is 1,800 to 1,900 hours. That leaves real time to meet those clients, and the firm expects you to use it for business development.
- A nationally ranked real estate litigation team sits down the hall. If a transaction turns into a dispute, you hand it to colleagues you trust and keep the client relationship.
- You run deals from letter of intent to funded closing, with direct client contact from the start.
- The work is broad: acquisitions, dispositions, real estate finance, land development and commercial leasing. Your practice can follow your clients wherever their next project goes.
- The firm works hybrid. You and the team agree how your week splits, from day one.
What your week looks like
- Negotiating purchase and sale agreements so your client goes in protected and comes out with what they paid for.
- Taking financing documents from first draft to closing set.
- Structuring development agreements where timing, approvals and obligations have to hold for years.
- Handling commercial leases for landlords and tenants.
- Running the closing checklist and keeping every party on one timeline.
One range, two levels
- Nearer $130,000: an experienced associate who already runs transactions alone and wants that independence to lead to clients of their own.
- Nearer $260,000: someone with established client relationships or portable work.
- Where you land depends on the deals you run and the clients you bring.
Who they want
- Three or more years on complex commercial real estate transactions.
- Licensed in North Carolina.
- The confidence to run a deal without someone checking your work at every turn.
- An interest in building a practice. Existing relationships help, but appetite counts too.
No resume ready? That’s fine. Pick up the phone and we’ll start there.
