Job Description
Medical Malpractice Attorney | Charlotte, NC | $110,000 to $190,000
Want to run your own med mal cases? This firm will let you.
I'm Clark Pollins at Distinct Recruitment, and I'm hiring for a litigation firm's Charlotte office. Their med mal defense team is growing, and the cases are arriving faster than they can staff them. That's a rare problem to walk into. It means the files come to you.
Your files
- Your own matters, from intake to resolution.
- You take the physician and expert depositions yourself.
- The case mix runs from nursing home claims to orthopedic defense. Every file teaches you a new corner of medicine.
The partner you'd learn from
- They want to work with associates directly. Not a name on the pleading. A mentor in the room.
- Two decades of trial strategy on exactly these cases, taught by someone who wants to teach it.
The pay, explained
- The range is wide because they're hiring at two levels.
- The lower end suits attorneys around two to four years in. The upper end is for those already running med mal files toward trial on their own.
- Where you land depends on your experience, and I'll tell you honestly where I think you fit.
How the week works
- The office runs hybrid. How you split your time is a real choice, not something you earn after a probation period.
What you bring
- Two or more years of litigation. Med mal, healthcare, professional liability and insurance defense all translate well.
- North Carolina bar admission, or eligibility to waive in.
- Sharp writing. Plenty of these cases are won on the motion before a jury ever sits.
