The Attending Veterinarian is responsible for the well‑being and clinical care of the animal models. This responsibility extends to supervising and promoting animal well‑being at all times during animal use, and during all phases of the animal's life as well as the compliance monitoring, quality management and safety of the animal models. The role will be responsible for the Livermore CA site and Transportation, fulfilling the role of Attending Veterinarian for the assigned sites as required for PHS OLAW Assurance, AAALAC Accreditation and USDA AWA compliance. The veterinarian will provide clinical services, animal health monitoring, and regulatory compliance oversight, maintain expertise in laboratory animal science, and promote a “Culture of Care” within Inotiv.
Qualifications
- Veterinary degree
- Maintaining state veterinary licensure and federal accreditation through continuing education credits
- Sufficient time in private practice or laboratory animal medicine to gain competency in veterinary herd health, clinical medicine and surgery skills
- Experience carrying out audits or inspections preferred
- Fluent in English, spoken and in writing
- Ability to travel (domestic)

- Animal production, surgery, anesthesia or other related further experience or qualification in the veterinary field
- Previous teaching/tutoring experience
- Computer proficiency and ability to learn use of specific data capture systems
- ACLAM diplomate or other specialty board certification
Anticipated hiring range: $175,000– $200,000 annually, adjusted according to the level of the role and the candidate’s relevant experience and/or education. This position may be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level.
