Leading compliance and information assurance initiatives for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) HEDX program, the full-time remote ATO Manager / Senior Cybersecurity Engineer will design, implement, and assess systems to ensure adherence to agency cybersecurity policy and HIPAA regulations while managing authorization processes and liaising with technical teams. Key responsibilities: Lead the development and maintenance of VA security authorization packages within the Continuous Authorization and Monitoring (CAM) system Serve as the primary liaison between the HEDX program and various VA stakeholders to coordinate Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities Establish and manage a Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) program to maintain security and compliance throughout the authorization lifecycle Required qualifications: Master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 10+ years of experience in software development and cybersecurity Extensive experience with VA Continuous Authorization and Monitoring (CAM) and eMASS Active cybersecurity certifications aligned with DoD 8140/8570 or VA equivalents (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CASP+, or CGRC) Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security clearance
