ISMIRA Agency is hiring IMMIGRATION OFFICER for ASTORIA GRANDE cruise ships!

ASTORIA GRANDE invites Russian-speaking employees to join its team to work on a cruise ship to Turkey and Egypt with departure from Sochi to the shores of the Black, Aegean, Marmara, and Mediterranean Seas. Astoria Grande visits the unique ports of the Turkish coast — Istanbul, Cesme, Amasra, Sinop, Trabzon, Ordu, Izmir, Kusadasi — and also stops at the largest port of Egypt, ancient Alexandria. The cruise also visits islands of Greece and, in the new season, beautiful Italian ports.

POSITION SUMMARY

Immigration Officer assists the Chief Purser in directing the Clearance Operation to ensure all documents for arrival and departure are managed in a timely manner, ensuring that all crew and passenger documents meet all custom and immigration requirements in diverse destinations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Age 18+
  • Recruitment is conducted from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan.
  • Fluency in Russian is mandatory
  • Knowledge of English at least pre‑intermediate; fluency required for higher and administrative positions
  • Full package of STCW certificates and a seafarer’s passport/identity card required
  • Degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field from an accredited college or university, or international equivalent (preferred)
  • Ten or more years of progressive management experience in an upscale hotel or cruise ship, including three years as Crew Purser and three years as Assistant Purser
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong management skills in a multicultural and dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Superior customer service, team building, and conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution, including strategic planning, resource allocation, workforce planning, leadership techniques, and production methods
  • Knowledge of personalized service principles, needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems, and guest satisfaction evaluation techniques
  • Knowledge of human resources policies and practices, ability to manage international department heads, motivate, develop, and effectively manage crew members
  • Ability to utilize and administer the company’s disciplinary action process through coaching and counseling to improve performance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related computer software
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a constantly challenging environment

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare all necessary documentation in accordance with company rules and regulations and Chief Purser instructions for each destination
  • Plan, organize, support, control, and evaluate operations and passenger passports, ensuring they are stored safely until cruise completion
  • Ensure highest level of guest satisfaction by overseeing delivery of quality guest services and amenities to company standards
  • Establish and maintain required clearance documents in cooperation with Second Purser and Crew Purser
  • Coordinate with Medical team, Second Purser, HR, and Chief Purser on passenger medical cases
  • Coordinate with Second Purser, Crew Purser, and Chief Purser on crew medical cases
  • Assist the Chief Purser in maintaining and updating the Purser/Passenger Anova or alternative system
  • Maintain communication between authorities and Chief Purser, following company standards at all times
  • Monitor and maintain passenger list and manifest in cooperation with Back Office, monitoring passenger changes (embarkation/disembarkation)
  • Attend meetings, training activities, courses, safety training/drills, and all other work‑related activities as required
