Job Title: Assistant Veteran Officer
Hourly Pay Rate : $51,174.00 - $58,731.00
Location: 2247 North First St. Suite 219 - Conroe, TX 77301
Shift Hours: Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to interact and communicate with individuals of diverse backgrounds, general public, and other staff members.
• Must be able to multitask in high pressured, fast-paced, stressful situations, in a calm and professional manner.
• Must be willing to work in a team setting with a positive attitude, as well as independently.
• Must be willing to cross-train and accept additional duties, as assigned.
• Must be punctual, dependable, able to meet attendance requirements.
• Must be detail oriented and possess efficient organizational skills, as well as, the ability to prioritize.
• Must pass a criminal background check for VA purposes.

Primary Job Duties:

• Greet and interact with Veterans/Survivors regarding filing for VA benefits.
• Be available for training events and tested to obtain VA accreditation.
• Work compassionately and be understanding with clients who have multiple physical and mental disabilities.
• Process VA claims data for accuracy and completeness.
• Manage high phone call volume.
• Utilize case management system: VetPro and VA Systems
• Maintain and ensure accuracy and integrity of VA Claims files and privacy policies.
• Cross train with VFW, DAV, and Texas Veterans Commission with the ability to multitask proficiently at multiple job functions.

After receiving a conditional offer of employment, applicant must pass a drug screen (1/2 cost = $20.00, responsibility of applicant) and may need a physical agility test (1/2 cost = $22.50, responsibility of applicant) before becoming an employee of Montgomery County.
