Assistant Professor Position

The Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) in the College of Literature, Science and the Arts at the University of Michigan solicits applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. The faculty position will be tenure track with a university year appointment starting August 25, 2027 or January 1, 2028. Successful candidates will be expected to establish a vigorous, extramurally funded research program and provide instruction to both undergraduate and graduate students.

We welcome applications from outstanding biological scientists in all areas of cellular/molecular biology in prokaryotes, plants, and animals. Experimental approaches may include (but are not limited to) biochemical, genetic, cellular, and organismal levels. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D.

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment.
