Asst Prof/Clinical - OBGYN - Complex Family Planning,

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Complex Family Planning at UConn Health seeks a new 1.0 FTE at the Assistant Professor level. As a member of the University Medical Group, the faculty practice of the School of Medicine, you will provide clinical coverage of Complex Family Planning services, generalist OBGYN services, and labor and delivery. Family Planning services include office-based procedures, office hysteroscopy, and cases in the operating room. There is an opportunity to start and grow your own practice in underserved regions of Connecticut as part of the UConn community health network. The candidate will receive 0.05 FTE academic time to pursue opportunities in teaching and/or research.

The candidate will become faculty for the Complex Family Planning fellowship upon the approval by the program director. Additional duties involve teaching and precepting residents, fellows, and medical students, providing CME lectures to community-based physicians and serving on hospital or medical school committees assigned by the department Chair. Call will be on-rotation with other faculty members. Two weekday overnight calls per month are expected and these come with additional compensation. Responsibilities may change as the needs and mission of the medical school, hospital and department change.

Qualifications

  • Board eligible or certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Complex Family Planning by ABOG
  • Valid State of Connecticut medical license and CT Controlled Substance license.
  • Valid Federal DEA license.
