Assistant General Manager
You will partner with the General Manager and Area Leader to deliver the company’s mission, values, and competencies to guests and team members in our restaurants. You will establish store action plans, drive financial metric results, and develop hourly team members. Your responsibilities include supporting daily restaurant operations at an exceptional level and mastering competency‑based leadership and operational skills.
Competitive pay: $20.00 per hour (projected annually $57,200 based on a 50‑hour work week).
What You’ll Do
- Assist the General Manager in managing daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure adherence to CAVA’s standards for food quality, service, and cleanliness.
- Oversee inventory management, supply ordering, and cost control to maintain profitability.
- Supervise and support Team Members with training, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Support scheduling and staffing.
- Address Team Member issues and conflicts to maintain a positive work environment.
- Enhance the guest experience by upholding high service standards and promptly addressing customer concerns.
- Implement strategies to boost customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Lead by example in customer service and encourage the team to follow suit.
- Manage financial aspects, including tracking sales, cash handling, and adherence to budget guidelines.
- Prepare financial reports, analyze performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure accurate financial record‑keeping and compliance with cash handling procedures.
- Oversee food safety practices and provide team training on proper procedures.
- Handle administrative tasks such as inventory management and maintaining operational records.
- Assist with report preparation and action plan implementation.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives to drive restaurant success.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager or higher management.
The Qualifications
- 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership and team‑management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and propose solutions to enhance performance.
- Financial management, budgeting, and cost control skills.
- Knowledge of legal, health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and solve problems effectively.
- Willingness to work flexibly, including nights, weekends, and travel as needed.
- Displays generosity and friendliness when engaging with guests.
- Completes tasks and projects within established timelines.

Physical Requirements
- Regular overtime work.
- Ability to bend, reach overhead, sit, squat, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Dexterity for handling tongs, pots, pans, and other equipment.
- Comfortable working in temperatures ranging from hot to cold and near open flames.
- Capability to work in tight spaces and under outdoor weather conditions.
- Consistent communication with multiple people and maintaining a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.
- Good vision, both close and distance, including peripheral vision.
