Associate Vice President - Transportation Design

Associate Vice President Of Transportation DesignPape-Dawson is seeking a full-time Associate Vice President of Transportation Design for our Transportation group based in our Nashville office. This position is responsible for leading the roadway design group, including staff development and overseeing projects, their delivery, and adhering to budgets and timelines. The Associate Vice President is also expected to understand and communicate local market conditions, personnel needs and industry trends.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain professional relationships with local and state governments, private clients, and community leadersDirect and oversee transportation design projects through the project managersOverseeing and mentoring staffProvide quality control on project deliveryPrepare proposal content and client agreementsMonitor project tasks, budgets, and schedules with project managersMonitor project performanceLead departmental marketing efforts, including proposal efforts, conference participation, and professional organization membershipLead department personnel, including hiring and performance managementOversight of sub-contractorsCreate and adhere to yearly budget and participate in monthly client invoicingAdditional related duties as neededRequirements15+ years' experience in the Transportation Design fieldBachelor of Science in Civil EngineeringTennessee PE license or the ability to achieve by reciprocityExperience leading and directing individuals or a teamUnderstanding of roadway design guidance from AASHTOExperience with TDOT guidelines, procedures, plan preparation, and local programs projectsUnderstanding of MicroStation/Geopak and Open Roads DesignerSignificant experience in development of roadway plans and specificationsExperience and relationships with TDOT, local municipalities, and permitting agenciesAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneouslyExperience with billing and client invoicingStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenDependable, adaptable, flexible, and deadline-drivenEEO Statement: All qualified applicants for Pape-Dawson Engineers will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
