Harford Community College is seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to serve as Associate Vice President for Facilities & Operations, a key member of the President's Cabinet. This executive leadership role oversees the planning, development, and operation of the College’s physical infrastructure and support services, helping to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming campus environment.
In this role, you will provide leadership for:
- Facilities Maintenance
- Capital Projects and Construction
- Campus Master Planning
- Event Management
- Dining Services
- Housekeeping
- Distribution Services
- Grounds Maintenance
- Real Estate Management
The AVP is responsible for managing capital and operating budgets, coordinating design and construction initiatives, overseeing departmental operations, negotiating contracts, and serving as a liaison with state and local government agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or a related field
- Seven or more years of progressive experience leading facilities, construction, operations, or related services, preferably in higher education or the public sector
- Five or more years of supervisory experience, including staff development, performance management, and hiring
- Valid driver's license

This is an exempt administrative position with an annually reviewed contract.
Residency Requirement: Employees must reside in Maryland or a contiguous state (Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia). Candidates currently living elsewhere must be willing to relocate.
