Introduction

Our client is a privately owned hospital, currently hiring an Associate Veterinarian. The practice sees cats and dogs but would be open to expanding species offerings for an experienced doctor. They are seeking a full-time veterinarian, although they could be open to a part-time schedule of three days per week for the right candidate.

Role Description and Responsibilities

The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for the full scope of general practice responsibilities, including wellness / preventative care, internal medicine, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. The hospital sees a high volume of dental cases and enjoys working up internal medicine cases. There is the opportunity for confident doctors to expand services further based on their interests and experience. There are opportunities for a three- or four-day workweek with no weekend requirements. Standard appointment times are 30 minutes, with appointments beginning at 8:00am and the final appointment scheduled at 5:15pm. The role is open to experienced veterinarians as well as new graduates who have previous clinic experience as a technician or assistant.

Practice Details

The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm and offers a full scope of general practice services. The practice is well-equipped with electrocautery, a vessel sealer, companion laser, digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, Oncura ultrasound, Abaxis in-house laboratory equipment, and Avimark EMR. One technician is fully trained in echocardiography and abdominal ultrasound. Facilities include three exam rooms, a surgical suite, two kennel areas, a central pharmacy, treatment tables, a separate kitchen and break area, and a private office for the doctor. All staff members have completed the Sophia Yin program.

Team

The team consists of one owner DVM supported by three technicians and two assistants. The support staff is highly tenured, with some team members having been with the hospital since it opened. The practice maintains a harmonious working environment and ensures a minimum 2:1 support staff-to-doctor ratio at all times.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
