Job Details

We're excited to find the right Associate Veterinarian to join our team in S. Daytona Beach (OPEN TO RELOCATION TO FLORIDA).

We have a fun, supportive and collaborative culture. We offer a 4-day work week. We own two practices about 25 minutes apart that work together to service our clients needs. Most of our patients are Cats and Dogs, and we have plenty of Exotic Pets that visit us as well. We're ready to take the next step in the evolution of our business! Having 'the right' people on our team is the single most important thing we can do to be successful!

We're a growing Animal Practice which is why we're looking for you. We won't tell you how to practice medicine. We won't pressure you to euthanize any animal, if you're not comfortable with it. We will provide opportunities for professional growth, mentorship, and training.

If you're not familiar with this part of Florida, there are so many things to do. We have a lot of water sports and outdoor sports options. All of the theme parks are only an hour away. This area is flush with unique and fun restaurants and bars. Rocket launches are a weekly occurrence and can be seen from anywhere in East Volusia County.

We don't just work hard, but we do things together too like, movies, kayaking, theme parks, parties, boat outings, etc...we prioritize team building.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care and Diagnostics: Perform physical examinations, diagnose illnesses, injuries, and diseases, and develop comprehensive, problem-based treatment plans. This includes interpreting diagnostic tests such as X-rays and ultrasound results.
  • Surgical and Dental Procedures: Execute routine and non-routine soft tissue surgeries (e.g., spays, neuters, mass removals, abdominal exploratories, etc...) and a variety of dental procedures, including extractions and oral surgery.
  • Preventive Medicine: Advise pet owners on preventative healthcare, including vaccinations, nutrition, parasite control, and general wellness.
  • Client Communication: Build rapport and effectively communicate diagnoses, treatment options, prognoses, and at-home care instructions to clients in a compassionate and professional manner. This includes providing guidance on end-of-life decisions when necessary.
  • Mentorship and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other veterinarians, technicians, and assistants, potentially assisting in the training and mentorship of junior staff.
  • Documentation and Administration: Maintain detailed and accurate electronic medical records (SOAP notes), manage controlled substance logs, and participate in daily hospital rounds.

Required Education, Qualifications and Skills:

Education and Licensure:

A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or equivalent) degree from an accredited institution and an Active Florida Veterinary License.

Experience:

Must have 2-3+ years of practical experience as a practicing veterinarian, demonstrating confidence and competence in medical and surgical skills beyond entry-level.

Clinical Skills:

Strong diagnostic abilities, solid soft-tissue surgery experience, and a commitment to practicing high-quality medicine.

Interpersonal Skills:

Excellent communication skills, a compassionate and empathetic approach to animal care, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced team environment.

  • USDA Accreditation (a plus)
  • DEA License (not required, but a plus)
