We are working on behalf of a brand-new small animal general practice opening in Tarrytown, NY, in early 2027 that is looking to welcome a full-time Associate Veterinarian to its founding team.
This is a rare chance to help build a hospital from the ground up alongside the founding Medical Director, with a real voice in shaping the culture, standards of medicine, workflows, and client experience. The hospital will be equipped from day one with digital radiology, digital dental radiology, ultrasound, in-house diagnostics, modern anaesthesia monitoring, AI scribe technology, and a fully digital workflow.
You will provide medical, surgical, and dental care for dogs and cats in a Fear Free environment, with a varied caseload covering wellness, internal medicine, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and same-day urgent cases as scheduling allows. The schedule is built around life outside of work: a 4-day week, no on-call, no overnight hospitalisation, and protected lunch and callback time.
The goal is roughly two technicians per doctor, along with dedicated assistants and CSRs, so you can focus on the medicine. Experienced veterinarians looking for autonomy are encouraged to apply, and new graduates will receive extended appointment times, a graduated caseload, and direct mentorship from the Medical Director. As the practice grows into a multi-doctor hospital, you may have opportunities for leadership development and a potential future partnership.
Tarrytown sits on the Hudson River just north of New York City, with walkable streets, cafes, river walks, and an easy train ride into Manhattan.

About You
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution
- You hold, or are eligible for, licensure in New York
- Passionate about high quality, evidence based medicine
