Job Responsibilities:

  1. Complete comprehensive patient work ups to diagnose health, mental, and behavioral conditions.
  2. Advise animal owners about general care, housing, feeding, behavior, and breeding.
  3. Advise owners on patient care and treatment.
  4. Test and vaccinate against diseases, such as distemper and rabies.
  5. Prescribe and administer medication.
  6. Treat wounds and fractured/broken bones.
  7. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and surgeries.
  8. Supervise 1-3 Veterinary Technologists.

Job Requirements:

  1. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) Degree from a U.S. or AVMA accredited institution.
  2. Three (3) years’ experience in a general small animal veterinary practice.
  3. Valid State License to practice Veterinary Medicine in Florida.
  4. Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  5. Familiarity with Board Rules and AVMA standards of practice.
  6. Experience performing ultrasounds and medical/emergency surgeries.
  7. Ability to operate standard veterinary medical equipment (e.g., X-ray machines).
  8. Availability for evening, weekend, and/or emergency shifts for potentially over 40 hours/week.
  9. Ability to perform veterinary services on an emergency or as-needed basis off-site, within normal commuting distance from the clinic.

Salary: $130,000/year
