Associate Veterinarian - Riverside Veterinary Clinic

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled full‑time Associate Veterinarian to join our busy companion animal practice at Riverside Veterinary Clinic in Corpus Christi, Texas. The role is ideal for a veterinarian who values an appointment‑based service model, allowing time to build client trust and deliver personalized care. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff while partnering closely with the Hospital Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient examinations and medical work‑ups.
• Communicate and educate clients.
• Perform diagnostic procedures and surgery.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations.
• Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily hospital operations from intake to discharge.
• Monitor cases and attend daily rounds when possible to ensure high standards are upheld.
• Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications (Required)

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited institution.
• At least 1 year of clinical experience in a veterinary practice.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Excellent surgical and dental skills.
• Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to providing compassionate and high‑quality veterinary care.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with medical staff and clients.
• Client communication skills, including eliciting information, establishing rapport, and explaining treatment options.
• Confidence and reassurance when dealing with stressed, ill, or painful animals.
• Ability to perform moderate physical tasks such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

• Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skill in examining and assessing animals, including cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological, and other examinations.
• Problem‑solving ability to develop solutions for managing a high‑quality veterinary hospital.

Pay Range

$105,000 — $160,000 USD
