Role Description
This full-time, on-site Veterinarian role is based in Alpena, MI. The Veterinarian will be responsible for conducting routine check-ups, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, performing surgery, and prescribing medications. Additionally, the role involves providing educational guidance to pet owners, working collaboratively with a skilled veterinary team, and maintaining detailed records to ensure high-quality care. You will join a collaborative team of three experienced veterinarians with more than 50 years of combined clinical experience who are committed to mentoring, professional growth, and excellent patient care.
Qualifications
- Veterinary Medicine education with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and state licensure
- Strong diagnostic, surgical, and medical skills relevant to small animal medicine
- Knowledge of best practices in animal care, including preventative healthcare and treatment protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with pet owners and team members
- Ability to handle emergencies and provide compassionate care during high-pressure situations
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying up to date on advancements in veterinary medicine
- Experience with veterinary software systems and record management is a plus
