Associate UnderwriterThe Associate Underwriter supports Underwriters in the evaluation, selection, and servicing of business while developing the technical expertise required for independent underwriting. This role underwrites new and renewal business, applies rating and risk assessment principles, and ensures compliance with company guidelines and procedures. The core function of this role centers on building underwriting capability, managing account activity, and progressively taking on greater ownership of risk evaluation and execution.Key ResponsibilitiesUnderwrite new and renewal business, including evaluating risk, conducting rating, and determining appropriate placement within established guidelinesReview submissions, inspection reports, and policy details to ensure accuracy and alignment with underwriting and risk expectationsManage account servicing activities, including endorsements, audits, cancellations, and policy changes while ensuring compliance with company standardsMonitor assigned accounts to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and underwriting guidelinesDevelop and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal partners while supporting production and business growth objectivesProvide guidance and direction to underwriting support staff, including reviewing work and ensuring quality and accuracy of outputEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree or equivalent insurance-related experience preferredExperience within wholesale insurance, including underwriting, rating, or account servicing responsibilitiesExperience expectations increase across the career path, with progression toward greater underwriting authority and independent decision-makingCertifications, Licenses, RegistrationsCurrent state-specific insurance license required.
