Associate Scientist – Purification Process Development Location: Oceanside, CA | Onsite: 5 days/week
Role
Support purification process development and characterization for pivotal/commercial programs, with a strong focus on high-throughput purification (HTP) and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute HTP purification of upstream/cell culture samples.
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot automated purification workflows.
- Operate Tecan and Hamilton liquid-handling systems.
- Perform microscale/bench-scale purification using chromatography and filtration.
- Support process development, characterization, experimental design, and data analysis.
- Maintain lab instrumentation and improve purification workflows.
- Prepare protocols, reports, and ELN documentation.
- Collaborate with upstream, downstream, and cross-functional teams.
- Follow safety, compliance, and data-integrity requirements.
Required Qualifications
- M.S. + 2 years or B.S. + 4 years relevant industry experience.
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with HTP purification and automated liquid handling.
- Experience with Tecan/Hamilton, microscale chromatography, AKTA, plate-based chromatography, and filtration.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
