Associate Program Director, Transformative Stroke Care

The mission of the Program is to expand and synergize translational stroke research to transform stroke care across the continuum within the context of an academic Learning Health System (aLHS). The stroke programs aim to address health equity and diversity across the lifespan.

We seek a PhD Health Services Researcher or Epidemiologist to serve as an Associate Program Director. Strong candidates will have a track record of national leadership in clinical data research, experience in alternative scientific models, use of a wide range of data sources and data analysis techniques (registry-based trials and causal estimation methods), success in grant writing and awards, and be particularly familiar with clinical science priorities in stroke and neuroscience disorders. Experience in community‑engaged participatory research or healthcare economic analyses, particularly those examining combined clinical and economic outcomes of care, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Director (clinician scientist) to lead translational stroke research initiatives.
  • Leverage collaborations with investigators across the Advocate Health Enterprise, disciplines, and national networks.
  • Assist in developing an enterprise-wide stroke registry, processes to improve care access and delivery, and strategies to reduce inequities and improve outcomes.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Health Services Research, Epidemiology or related field.
  • Proven national leadership in clinical data research.
  • Expertise in registry‑based trials, causal estimation methods, or similar advanced analytic approaches.
  • Demonstrated success in grant writing and awards.
  • Familiarity with stroke clinical science priorities and neurological disorders.
  • Preferred: experience in community‑engaged research or health‑care economics.
