Job Overview
A law firm seeks an associate with 3-5 years of corporate or securities law experience to join their Investment Services team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have a background in working with SEC-registered investment advisers and private investment funds, including private equity and venture capital.
Duties
- Advise on regulatory and compliance matters regarding federal securities laws.
- Engage in transactional work involving investment advisers and private investment funds.
- Manage multiple legal matters simultaneously.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of corporate and securities law experience at a law firm.
- Experience with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Investment Company Act of 1940, and the Securities Act of 1933.
- Transactional/mergers & acquisitions experience preferred.
- Admitted in, or taking steps to become admitted in, Illinois, New York, or District of Columbia.
Education
- J.D. degree with strong academic credentials.
Certifications
- Admitted to practice law in applicable jurisdiction.
