Role:
Under the direction of an HEDS Senior Director, the Associate Principal Scientist provides strategic development and use of predictive and economic models to enhance understanding of disease and quantify/communicate the value of oncology products to patients, providers, and payers.
Responsibilities:
- - Serve as the BARDS-HEDS lead for one or more Value and Implementation teams to develop health economic, disease, and predictive models for product business insights.
- - Use discovery, real-world evidence, clinical trial and published data, and public tools to build economic and integrated models to answer key questions across drug/vaccine development (Phase I through loss of data exclusivity).
- - Advance integrated quantitative approaches using economic, disease, predictive modeling and simulation with internal and external partners.
- - Develop and maintain global health economic models and tools in-house or with external vendors to demonstrate product value.
- - Support and train HEDS models/tools for country/regional adaptations and external stakeholder communications.
- - Disseminate health economic data via congress presentations and scientific journal publications.
- - Collaborate with external collaborators (clinical/economic thought leaders, payer/HTA experts, alliance partners) and internal cross-functional teams to apply new methodologies/models/analytics.
- - Stay current on external data, modeling methodologies, and IT tools to enhance capabilities in health economic modeling, simulation, and data visualization.
- - Share work products and best practices across the enterprise.
Education:
- - PhD (preferred) or Master’s degree in Health Economics, Biostatistics, Health Services Research, Actuarial Sciences, Operations Research, or related quantitative field.
Required Experience/Skills:
- - HEOR experience beyond degree.
- - Knowledge/experience in economic evaluation of oncology drugs and interventions.
- - Hands-on experience conceiving/designing/developing/disseminating health economic model approaches.
- - Track record of HTA submissions and peer-reviewed/conference publications.
- - Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- - Understanding of market access environment in US and key international markets.
