Associate Practice Area Director - Commissioning

Our client is seeking an Associate Practice Area Director to lead commissioning efforts within the Aviation/Transportation market focus. This role combines technical leadership with business development, requiring someone who can build and manage a team, maintain strong client relationships, and grow revenue across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate all commissioning activities within the region while ensuring technical excellence in project delivery
• Build and maintain a network of prospective clients, owners, architects, and PM/CM firms
• Track leads, forecast project pipelines, and develop winning proposal strategies
• Develop and execute the regional business plan alongside the international Commissioning team
• Oversee project financials and reporting
• Lead or support sales presentations and articulate the firm's value proposition in the market
• Recruit and mentor senior staff with relevant market experience
• Represent the firm through published articles, white papers, and speaking engagements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience
• 12+ years of commissioning experience, ideally with at least 5 years in a consulting engineering or A/E firm
• 5+ years of management experience and 5+ years in business development for commissioning engineering
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems
• CXAP certification or PE registration required
• Strong organizational, communication, and relationship building skills
• Recognized expertise in the Aviation/Transportation sector preferred
