The Role
Associate Photographers are the talented and versatile team responsible for media collection for Homes.com and Apartments.com. Equipped with top‑of‑the‑line Pro 3 Matterport, digital camera equipment, and an iPad, they create virtual tours, floorplans and photography for residential homes. Each photographer has a core territory and services clients of Homes.com and Apartments.com.
Photographers receive appointment schedules, scan homes and apartments with Matterport Pro 3 cameras, and capture virtual tours, floor plans, and residential photography for marketing purposes. This role works closely with clients, sales associates, logistics, and management. Photographers are managed remotely by a Photography Manager located in local markets.
Responsibilities
- Support marketing efforts on Homes.com and Apartments.com by capturing high‑quality 3‑D virtual tours and footprints.
- Create a portfolio of photographs to best feature homes and apartments, using photography techniques to capture the spaces in an appealing way.
- Work closely with scheduling and dispatch teams to maximize appointments and meet client demands.
- Communicate professionally with clients, sales, research partners, and management to evaluate priorities, initiatives, and tasks.
- While not on a residential assignment, navigate one‑mile square grids to ensure comprehensive commercial real‑estate data coverage, identify new inventory, missing availability, and properties to be photographed.
- Abide by CoStar safety standards to safeguard company vehicle and equipment.
- Represent CoStar professionally at all times.
- Participate in conference calls with sales and research teams as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Repetitive and frequent sitting in a car, standing and walking for up to 8 hours per day.
- Must lift, carry, and maneuver equipment weighing up to 5 pounds.
- Repetitive hand and arm movements for typing on a tablet/laptop and operating camera equipment.
- Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, lifting, twisting, and carrying necessary to perform job functions.
- Ability to work and drive outside during all seasons.
- Availability to work weekends on a rotating schedule.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of professional experience.
- Track record of commitment to prior employers.
- Real‑Estate photography experience required.
- Professional photography experience or recently earned degree in photography.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong customer service experience with a client‑first mindset.
- Experienced drone photographer with an FAA Part 107 license or certification obtained within 30 days of offer.
- Strong time‑management skills and detail orientation.
- Capability to accurately capture and enter data.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet applications, and Apple iOS products.
- Enjoys working independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Field experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory completion of a driving record check prior to start.

Compensation
- Base compensation: $49,000 – $50,000 (annual). Salary or hourly rate depends on location, skills, and competencies.
