Introduction
As an Associate Partner in IBM Consulting, you are a market-facing business leader responsible for driving revenue growth, shaping client transformation agendas, and scaling IBM’s Data practice within the Distribution sector (Retail, CPG, Logistics).
You are expected to operate as a trusted C-suite advisor, strategic seller, and program executive—with accountability for both bookings and delivery outcomes.
Your role and responsibilities
Required technical and professional expertise
Revenue Ownership & Market Growth
- Own and deliver $10M+ annual bookings in Data & AI services
- Build and maintain 3-5x qualified pipeline coverage
- Originate, shape, and close large, complex deals ($5M-$20M+)
- Drive net-new logo acquisition alongside account expansion
- Lead deal strategy, commercial structuring, pricing, and negotiations
Industry & Client Leadership (Distribution Focus)
- Bring deep expertise in Distribution (Retail, CPG, Supply Chain, Logistics)
- Leverage existing CXO relationships and build new executive connections
- Advise clients on AI-led transformation use cases, including:
- Demand forecasting & supply chain optimization
- Pricing & promotion optimization
- Customer analytics & personalization
- Shape data- and AI-driven business transformation roadmaps
Hyperscaler & Ecosystem Leadership
- Build and execute joint GTM strategies with AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud
- Leverage co-sell programs, marketplace motions, and partner funding (e.g., MAP, Azure credits)
- Collaborate with Snowflake, Databricks, and other ecosystem partners to accelerate deals
- Create joint pipeline opportunities and influence partner-driven revenue
Data, AI & Platform Leadership
- Lead solutioning across enterprise data platforms, lakehouse architectures, and hybrid cloud
- Drive adoption of GenAI, agentic AI, advanced analytics, and automation
- Architect solutions leveraging watsonx, hyperscaler AI services, Snowflake, and Databricks
- Embed Responsible AI, governance frameworks, and model risk management
- Align data modernization efforts with scalable AI adoption
Engagement & Delivery Leadership
- Act as Executive Sponsor / Project Executive for large-scale transformation programs
- Own delivery outcomes, client satisfaction, revenue, margin, and risk management
- Lead complex global delivery models, leveraging offshore and distributed teams
- Drive program governance, escalation management, and turnaround efforts for at-risk engagements
- Ensure realization of measurable business outcomes (ROI, cost savings, revenue uplift)
Commercial & Financial Leadership
- Own portfolio-level P&L, including revenue growth and margin expansion
- Structure multi-year, annuity-based and managed services deals
- Drive AI FinOps, including compute, token consumption, and cost optimization strategies
- Integrate token economics into pricing and solution positioning
Practice Building & Innovation
- Build scalable offerings, accelerators, and reusable IP
- Develop industry-specific AI solutions and frameworks
- Drive cross-account adoption and repeatable growth playbooks
- Collaborate across IBM Consulting, Software, and ecosystem teams
Talent & Organizational Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and grow multidisciplinary teams across data, AI, and consulting
- Build next-generation leadership bench strength
- Develop and scale communities of practice
- Attract and retain top talent in a highly competitive AI market
Thought Leadership & Eminence
- Publish points of view on Data & AI, governance, and enterprise transformation
- Represent IBM at industry forums, client events, and executive briefings
- Position IBM as a leader in applied AI for the Distribution sector
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Proven track record of owning and delivering $10M+ annual bookings
- Strong experience in Data, AI, GenAI, and advanced analytics consulting
- Deep understanding of enterprise data architectures and modernization (lakehouse, governance, integration)
- Experience leading large, complex transformation deals ($5M-$20M+)
- Demonstrated success in hyperscaler co-sell and ecosystem partnerships
- Familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, and cloud-native data platforms
