 The team ensures that the outputs of our research efforts are successfully implemented in the real world.  Domains of contribution include algorithmic execution, securities lending, and market expertise across a variety of asset classes and markets. As an Associate Member of Trading Staff, you will rotate across our credit, equity, forex, and derivatives desks to learn each asset class and region we trade, and eventually assume ownership of our systematic trading programs.  You will directly interact with both internal stakeholders and the broker dealer community.  The collaboration and rotation amongst the team will enable you to become an expert in market microstructure and trading operations.  Under mentorship from senior traders, you will build analytics and automation that enhance the level of sophistication and scale at which the firmwide trading program operates. This role requires working US and Asian market hours from our Berkeley office location.ResponsibilitiesMonitor high-volume execution algorithms and portfolio riskTrack real-time market developmentsInterface with external brokers and trading counterpartiesContribute to the codebase underlying automated trading operationsBuild processes and technology to prevent errors or outages while increasing team capacityProvide insight and expertise to the research and development staffWork global market hours for a portion of every year on a rotational basisRequirementsDemonstrated passion for marketsProficiency in a programming language like Python or RExperience using a Unix-like OSAcademic or practical familiarity with statisticsA skillset in data analysis and visualizationBachelor’s degree in a scientific or quantitative disciplineAttention to detail and clarity of thought“Friends of Voleon” Candidate Referral ProgramIf you have a great candidate in mind for this role and would like to have the potential to earn $7,500 if your referred candidate is successfully hired and employed by The Voleon Group, please use this form to submit your referral.
